Broyhill:
Thomas H. (T.H.) Broyhill made his initial investment in furniture manufacturing in 1905 in Lenoir, North Carolina. In 1919, T.H. Broyhill became the majority owner of Lenoir Furniture Corporation, manufacturing bedroom and dining room furniture. As early as 1924, Broyhill began marketing its products at the new American Furniture Mart in Chicago. This commitment to aggressive sales and marketing laid the groundwork for the company's nationwide recognition as a leader in the industry.
Broyhill Furniture continued to grow through the early years of the 20th century. In 1926, James Edgar (J.E.) Broyhill, T.H. Broyhill's brother, established Lenoir Chair Company. This expanded the company's product line into upholstery. Through the Depression and World War II Broyhill Furniture grew as a result of astute and bold investments in physical facilities, skilled employees and dedicated management. By the 1970s, Broyhill Furniture Industries, Inc. had pioneered the use of assembly line techniques and had become one of the largest and most respected state-of-the-art furniture manufacturing companies in the industry.
Interco Inc., a diversified holding company with a stable of consumer goods manufacturers, acquired Broyhill in 1980. Today, Broyhill is part of Furniture Brands International, the world's largest manufacturer of residential furniture and the parent company of Lane®, Thomasville®, Henredon®, Drexel Heritage® and Maitland-Smith®. Due to the shipping characteristics of this item, we have contracted with a white glove freight carrier to deliver your order. White glove carriers are different from common carriers in that they provide the customer with many benefits throughout the delivery process. Once your order arrives in your area, you will be telephoned by a representative from the white glove carrier to arrange a 4 hour window for delivery. Unlike common carriers, a white glove delivery team consists of at least two people so you will not be burdened with helping the driver carrier your order from the back of the truck to your home. The white glove team will handle this for you as well as provide addition services as they are described below.
There are 3 different levels of service that we offer with products that use white glove freight:
White Glove Bronze,
White Glove Gold and
White Glove Platinum. For some products we provide a higher level of base service included in the product price because we know that due to the size and weight it will ensure that your product arrives in good shape. For other products we give you the option to pay extra and upgrade to a higher service level. Below we have detailed what is included with each different level of white glove freight service.
One other important thing to remember about white glove freight is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the product has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.
White Glove Freight Service Levels
White Glove Bronze (Free!)
Bronze service level provides two-man delivery, to inside the threshold of your residence. If you live in a home with a garage this means the product will be left in your garage. If you do not have a garage the product will be left in your front entrance, or mudroom. If you live in an apartment building or condo the product will be carried up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights please contact us*. The product will be left in the original packaging.
White Glove Gold (Additional $99)
Gold service level provides two-man delivery, to inside your residence to the room you choose. This service includes carrying the product up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights please contact us*. Once the product is in the room you desire, the shipper will unpack the product and provide basic setup that requires no tools (i.e. will set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other). The shipper will also remove and dispose of all packaging.
White Glove Platinum (Additional $149)
Platinum service level provides two-man delivery, to inside your residence to the room you choose. This service includes carrying the product up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights please contact us*. Once the product is in the room you desire, the shipper will unpack the product and provide light setup that requires basic tools (i.e. pieces will be screwed or bolted together, set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other). The shipper will also remove and dispose of all packaging.
*In all cases the shipper will not hookup any electrical or component wires. Having items carried up more than 25 steps and longer assembly periods are available as additional services which would require additional charges. Please contact us if you feel you need these services.
